Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in the Microsoft ecosystem to join our dynamic IT team. This role is critical to the design, implementation, management, and optimisation of our clients’ infrastructure systems. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering robust, secure, and scalable IT solutions within a Microsoft environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Design and Implementation

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure infrastructure solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem (e.g., Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure design with business objectives.
     

Client Support & Escalations

  • Serve as an escalation point for complex or high-priority client incidents and requests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues across Microsoft and hybrid environments.
  • Provide proactive support through monitoring, maintenance, and incident prevention.
  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering timely, high-quality service and clear communication.
     

System Administration

  • Administer and optimise Windows Server environments, including roles such as DHCP, DNS, IIS, and Group Policy management.
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory (on-premises and Azure AD) and related identity and access management solutions.
     

Cloud Infrastructure

  • Architect, deploy, and manage cloud solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Virtual Machines, Storage, Azure Networking, and Azure Monitor).
  • Optimise cloud spend and ensure high availability, scalability, and performance.

 

Microsoft 365 Management _03 Confidential

  • Oversee the administration of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Implement and manage compliance and security policies across Microsoft 365 environments.
     

Microsoft CSP Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) program requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft CSP policies, licensing models, and operational procedures.
  • Implement and manage processes to align with Microsoft’s compliance standards, including reporting, auditing, and security practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and optimize the organization’s position within the CSP framework.
     

Security and Compliance

  • Ensure infrastructure adheres to industry security standards and best practices.
  • Manage endpoint security solutions (e.g., Microsoft Defender, Intune) and enforce security baselines.
  • Monitor and address vulnerabilities, ensuring systems remain compliant with regulatory requirements.
     

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity

  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and conduct regular testing.
  • Implement robust backup and recovery solutions.
     

Monitoring and Troubleshooting

  • Proactively monitor system performance and availability using tools like Azure Monitor and System Center.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues efficiently.
     

Team Leadership and Mentoring

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Participate in capacity planning, budgeting, and project management activities.
     

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure engineering within a Microsoft-centric environment.
  • Expert knowledge of: Microsoft Azure (certifications like AZ-104, AZ-305 preferred).
  • Windows Server (2016/2019/2022).
  • Active Directory (including Group Policy, DNS, and hybrid setups).
  • Microsoft 365 services and administration.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls) and Azure Networking.
  • Experience with endpoint management tools (e.g., Microsoft Intune).
  • Demonstrable expertise in implementing and managing security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, MCSE, or similar.
  • Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization technologies.
  • Exposure to ITIL framework and service management principles.
  • Knowledge of non-Microsoft tools like Linux or AWS (as a secondary skill).
